Pistons Sign Veteran Guard Joe Johnson and Release Michael Beasley

Joe Johnson's unbelievable BIG3 run that saw him earn league MVP and a championship will culminate in a return to the NBA for the 38-year-old.
Johnson impressed various teams across the league and held workouts for multiple organizations, and according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo, the sharpshooter has signed a deal with the Detroit Pistons.
Johnson's deal is partially guaranteed over one season, so there isn't much risk at stake here on Detroit's end.
The Pistons will be Johnson's eighth NBA team, as he'll enter his 18th season. The seven-time All-Star will add a valuable veteran presence to a relatively inexperienced Pistons team.
Detroit was able to scurry into last year's postseason as an eighth-seed, but were unable to do any sort of damage due to yet another Blake Griffin injury. They're hoping the additional 3-point shooting provided by Johnson can help them push further into the playoffs.
In a corresponding move, in order to open up a roster spot, the Pistons waived Michael Beasley.
With the addition of Johnson, Detroit will have a solid rotation of wing players, featuring the likes of Johnson, Markieff Morris, rookie Sekou Doumbouya and former Lakers sharpshooter, Svi Mykhailiuk.
If Iso Joe can be half as effective next season as he was in the BIG3, the Pistons offense will benefit tremendously.
Throughout his 17 years in the NBA, Johnson has posted career averages of 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and an efficient 37.1% clip from beyond the arc.
