When Doug Baldwin announced his retirement at the beginning of the season, the Seattle Seahawks were left looking shallow at wide receiver. They drafted D.K. Metcalf at the end of the second round in order to mitigate the loss of Baldwin, but the Ole Miss product wasn't anticipated to be a major factor in the team's offense from the get go.

Metcalf is a stellar receiver and his freak athleticism impressed at the combine, but he showed limitations in his ability to quickly change directions. Despite the various question marks surrounding Metcalf, his play as a rookie has left little doubt that he's the real deal.

And teams that passed on him in favor of other wideouts within the class should surely be kicking themselves, in particular the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles drafted Stanford product JJ Arcega-Whiteside with the 57th overall pick in the draft, seven selections before Metcalf heard his name called.

Well, when you compare the two rookie wideouts' production from Sunday's playoff clash, it becomes clear who the more impactful first-year talent has been, if it weren't already obvious.

Metcalf caught seven receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown. Arcega-Whiteside, on the other hand, put up goose eggs across the board and saw very limited snaps.

Metcalf will continue to play a major role in the Seahawks road to the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Eagles will be seething over their decision to draft Arcega-Whiteside over a potential star WR for the next decade.
