Podcast Company Starting Show Based on Astros' Sign-Stealing Scandal
By Michael Luciano

The Houston Astros' legendary sign-stealing scandal is going to go down in history as one of the most blatant examples of cheating ever concocted in American professional sports.
Knowing that every baseball fan will jump at anything that further peels back the curtain and reveals what exactly was going on, Cadence13 will release both a podcast and TV show about the scandal, with former Sports Illustrated writer and "Astroball" author Ben Reiter serving as the host.
There's an upcoming Cadence13 podcast (and also a TV show) on the Astros' sign-stealing saga, hosted by Sports Illustrated writer and "Astroball" author Ben Reiter: https://t.co/BPBPfQzkee

Reiter famously penned an SI cover story in 2014 that declared the Astros "Your 2017 World Series Champs" thanks to their use of analytics and armada of talented prospects. Reiter nailed his prediction when the Astros stole some signs here and there to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017.
The Astros are very much in the crosshairs of the entire baseball community, as everyone from Cody Bellinger to Mike Trout is saying what's on their mind.
I asked Mike Trout what punishment he’d want for Astros players:

“Something,” he said. “I don’t know. I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head. To do that, obviously the GM got fired and Hinch got fired, but the players getting nothing, that’s definitely not right, for sure.”
Those players will surely be tuning in.
The Astros and their story is primed and ready for not only a podcast, but perhaps a 30-for-30 documentary or even a full-length feature film. The comical depths to which they went to get an edge, and how successful they were at doing so, needs to be analyzed in greater detail and firmly etched into the public's perception of the franchise.
