The offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers has been nothing short of a circus, with wide receiver Antonio Brown making headlines and forcing his way out of the Steel City in scorched earth fashion.

Pittsburgh was able to move him to Oakland and start anew, and after months of keeping quiet, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has decided to come out and share his side of the story in a one-on-one interview with KDKA TV sports director Bob Pompeani.

Instead of trashing his former teammate, Big Ben was earnest. He said some of the heat that went his way was deserved, and that he feels bad about some of the things he said and how Brown's departure went down.

Roethlisberger also touched on his comments following a Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos, when he came out and said that he wished he threw the ball to receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on a goal-to-go situation instead of throwing to Brown. He acknowledges that he didn't need to go after AB like he did.

Big Ben then went on to say that apologizing "only goes so far." He admits that some of the hurtful things he said toward Brown "ruined our friendship" and that he's "genuinely sorry about that."

Rothlisberger clearly has a sense of self-awareness about this. His relationship with AB might be irreparable, but at least he's making an effort and seems genuine in his contrition.
