Powerful Twins Have Done Something Twice This Season They'd Never Done Before
By Parker White
The Minnesota Twins continued their domination on Thursday and defeated the Los Angeles Angels 16-7. They were in launch mode all day and ended up belting a whopping eight home runs.
That's the second time they've hit that many long balls this season, and surprisingly enough, they've never done this before in franchise history. Not even once.
Not only did they hit eight homers twice in a season, they did it in less than two months. Of course, the 2019 Twins are only the second team in MLB history to hit eight home runs in a game on two separate occasions, joining the 2005 Texas Rangers.
Six Twins players went yard yesterday, including Jonathan Schoop and Miguel Sano going bridge twice. I mean, who thought this group of players on Minnesota would be this potent from a power standpoint? Especially considering they accomplished this without their best power hitter in the lineup, Nelson Cruz.
The Twins have the best record in baseball (33-16) and they have arguably the top offense in the game, leading MLB in home runs (98), runs (289) and OPS (.855). The team is playing out of their minds right now and are absolutely crushing the ball of late.
