Predicting the Next Elite Recruit to Commit to Georgia
By Tyler Kemp
After losing out on 5-star running back Zach Evans to TCU, Georgia is looking to re-establish some ground in the Class of 2021 recruiting cycle. With seven commits and the No. 17 overall class according to 247 Sports, the Bulldogs have their eye on more than a few recruits.
Georgia has a few needs that they will need to fill in the near future. With the loss of both starting offensive tackles in Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson to the NFL Draft, there is a particular hometown name that comes to mind that could be staying relatively close.

Amarius Mims of Cochran, Ga. is the best overall player in the state and the No. 6 overall recruit in the country, per 247. At a bruising 6-7 and 315 pounds, this is the exact prospect that Kirby Smart should be targeting to replace Wilson and/or Thomas. With close to 20 offers around the country, many of the top-flight programs are vying for Mims’ services, including SEC rival Tennessee.
With the loss of Evans, Georgia knows that it can always get another running back. With Mims still being on the board, Smart and his staff cannot miss on this great prospect right in their backyard. Expect Amarius Mims to call Georgia his home in 2021.
