Predicting What Dak Prescott's Next Contract Will Actually Look Like
By Sean Facey

There will be no shortage of elite quarterbacks available in NFL free agency this offseason, and one of the names to keep an eye on is no doubt Dak Prescott.
The Dallas Cowboys star is coming off of a career year in which he threw for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns. Prescott has made it clear that he views himself as an extremely valuable asset, and it was even reported prior to this season that he was seeking a contract worth more than $40 million per year.
If one thing's for certain, though, it's that he's going to command a massive deal, so here's a prediction on what his next contract will look like.

At the beginning of the season, Prescott said that he felt he was deserving of a similar deal to Russell Wilson. Now, it seems incredibly likely that he'll get just that.
Prescott's next contract will likely be worth close to a record-breaking $36 million per year. He established himself as one of the premier passing quarterbacks in football last year, and he's definitely still a threat with his legs.

1. Aaron Rodgers (102.4)
2. Russell Wilson (101.2)
3. Drew Brees (98.4)
4. Tony Romo (97.1)
t5. Tom Brady (97.0)

t7. Kirk Cousins (96.8)
t7. Steve Young (96.8)

The question that remains, though, is how long teams will be willing to go on a deal.
If the Seahawks were willing to give Wilson a four-year extension at the age of 30, then the 26-year-old Prescott will likely garner a five-year deal. The two of them have similar styles of play, after all.
New #Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy on Dak Prescott: “He’s a great one. … You’re going to be able to run the whole offense and then some. Our offensive system will be built around making the quarterback successful."

At the end of the day, whatever he gets, he'll have entirely earned.
Prescott played at an elite level in 2019, the team results just weren't all there. After his incredible campaign, he's deserves the behemoth deal that he desires.
