VIDEO: Prince Amukamara Tells Mitchell Trubisky Haters to Take a Hike
By Jerry Trotta
The Chicago Bears stumbled to an 8-8 record in 2019, a far cry from their 12-4 mark from a season ago, and most would say those shortcomings derived from the inconsistency of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. His struggles had fans in the Windy City calling for his job, and caused analysts to question whether Trubisky's teammates were confident in his ability to get the job done. Well, cornerback Prince Amukamara squashed those theories, lauding the North Carolina product while speaking to TMZ reporters over the weekend.
This is inspiring from Amukamara, but, let's be honest, what else was he going to do here? Absolutely rip Trubisky a new one? That would buy him a one-way ticket out of town faster than he could blink.
If nothing else, this clip confirms that Mitch will be the starter in Chicago next season, and that his teammates will continue to back him, at least publicly.
In 2019, Trubisky threw for 3,138 yards while tossing 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and fumbling five times. The Bears ranked 25th in the NFL with 205.7 passing yards per game, a mark they'll hope to see improve in 2020.
Based on Amukamara's comments, it seems the team is confident that Trubisky can help them get back on track next year.
