PFF Claiming Bills Have Best Wide Receiving Corps in NFL is Beyond Laughable

The Buffalo Bills have done a nice job of surrounding Josh Allen with solid wide receivers, adding a deep threat in John Brown and a veteran slot guy in Cole Beasley before the 2019 season. Buffalo's wide receiver corps went from good to great when they traded four picks to get former Minnesota Vikings star Stefon Diggs.

The folks at Pro Football Focus seem to have gotten quite carried away with the impact of the Diggs trade, however, as they're now declaring that the Bills now have the best receiver room in all of football.

Seriously.

Folks, the Bills are nowhere near the top.

Diggs is a solid receiver, but let's see how he operates without an Adam Thielen on the other side to attract the defense's attention. Brown is a prototypical No. 2 wideout who had a career year in Orchard Park, but we need to see more than one campaign of compelling production before declaring him a star. Beasley is a solid No. 3, but he isn't a needle-mover and will have little chance of matching his 2016 campaign in Dallas.

All told, when compared to the receiver rooms that the Saints, Buccaneers or Los Angeles Rams sport, the Bills aren't as close to the top as PFF (or most of Western New York) thinks they are.

Allen and the Bills, now the clear favorites in the AFC East with Tom Brady out of the picture, will have a plethora of options out wide, but calling them the best in the league is nothing short of nonsense. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
