Projected No. 2 Pick Ja Morant Signs Endorsement Deal With Nike
By Brendan Azoff
Just a few weeks away from likely being selected second overall by Memphis, electric guard Ja Morant wasted no time in signing an endorsement deal after leaving the NCAA.
Naturally, the projected lottery star had a creative way of announcing his new Nike endorsement.
In accepting the endorsement, Morant paid tribute to his parents and credited them with their hard work that led him to this opportunity. It is a humble and classy move, and an effective way to show off his new partnership with arguably the most popular sports brand in the world.
The monetary compensation has not been made public yet, but a multi-year deal for a player as talented as Morant must mean a massive amount of cash.
Morant averaged a double-double for Murray State last year, netting 24.5 points and 10 assists while leading his team to a win in March Madness. The self proclaimed "point god" looks primed for an amazing NBA career, and now he will don the Nike checkmark for the start of it.
