Projecting the Eagles' Starting Offense if They Draft CeeDee Lamb

The Philadelphia Eagles seem poised to address their glaring need at wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft, and the latest buzz suggests that GM Howie Roseman is plotting a move to trade up in an effort to select former Oklahoma stud CeeDee Lamb.

Despite what recent mock drafts indicate, the Eagles will have to be extremely fortunate to land one of the top receivers with the No. 21 overall pick, so trading up just makes sense.

If Roseman manages to land Lamb, the entire outlook of the team's offense will change, and with that in mind, let's project what the starters might look like.

Quarterback: Carson Wentz

Naturally. Wentz posted elite numbers in 2019 while working with a largely lackluster group of playmakers. For the year, he logged over 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions, leading the Eagles to the NFC East crown. The former No. 2 overall pick will look to build off that momentum in 2020, and we'd expect him to do just that with Lamb lining up out wide.

Running Back: Miles Sanders

Sanders shined as the No. 1 RB in Philly's backfield last year while Jordan Howard was sidelined for several weeks with a stinger. In his rookie season, the Penn State product totaled over 1,300 yards from scrimmage. That tally could nearly double with a bell cow workload in 2020.

Wide Receiver 1: Alshon Jeffery

It seems apparent that Jeffery would like a trade out of Philadelphia, but it remains to be seen if his wish will be granted. We don't doubt that the Eagles would like to ship him out of town, but his contract -- he's owed $22.65 million across the next two seasons -- likely makes it incredibly difficult to find a partner. As things stand, the 30-year-old vet will be starting for Philly come Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Wide Receiver 2: CeeDee Lamb

We love Lamb, but expecting him to emerge as the Eagles' No. 1 wideout from Day 1 is ridiculous, though it could just as easily happen at some point. Expect head coach Doug Pederson to get the former Sooners physical specimen out in the open field, where he's most dangerous, as much as possible.

Tight End: Zach Ertz

Ertz is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He's made the Pro Bowl in three consecutive seasons, a span during which he's logged at least 74 receptions, over 820 yards, and six touchdowns. He'll once again be Went'z go-to target in 2020.

Left Tackle: Andre Dillard

After an 11-year marriage, the Eagles decided to move on from future Hall of Famer Jason Peters this offseason. Those are massive shoes for Dillard to fill, but we hold no doubts that the 2019 first-round pick will make a seamless transition to becoming a full-time starter.

Left Guard: Isaac Seumalo

Seumalo started all 16 games for the Eagles last season and did so while playing 100% (!) of the team's offensive snaps. End of discussion.

Center: Jason Kelce

Not many players can say they've been named a First-Team All-Pro each of the last three seasons. As impressive as that is, we're not at all surprised that Kelce is one of them. The 32-year-old stud is the best center in the league. Period.

Right Guard: Brandon Brooks

We'll never understand why Brooks doesn't get the recognition he deserves, but Eagles fans know just how valuable he is to their offensive line. In 2019, Pro Football Focus named the 30-year-old vet the best guard in the NFL. Since coming to Philly in 2016, Brooks hasn't played fewer than 87% of the offensive snaps.

Right Tackle: Lane Johnson

Another no-brainer, Johnson was named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl for his valiant efforts last season, and that narrative, barring injury, should continue in 2020. He rounds out a remarkable Eagles OL group, and a genuinely scary offensive attack across the board.
