Projecting the Los Angeles Dodgers' Infield if They Were to Trade for Francisco Lindor
By Chris Pyo
Here's a crazy idea for you: What if the Los Angeles Dodgers were to actually add an elite talent in Francisco Lindor? Multiple sources are reporting that the Dodgers are thinking about trading for the four-time All Star, which would be huge for a franchise determined to bring fans their first championship since 1988.
With this in mind, here's what the Dodgers' infield could look like next year if they were to make a blockbuster deal for Lindor.
First, one would assume that this hypothetical deal would include multiple Dodgers youngsters, including Gavin Lux and Alex Verdugo. Sure, this might be a bit of a blow to the Dodgers' long term future, but for a team that's been operating under a win-now mentality for the better half of a decade, they should be more than willing to part with those two players in exchange for Lindor.
Plus, with Corey Seager, Max Muncy, and Justin Turner all in the fold, where could Lux go if not Cleveland?
After the dust settles, the Dodgers' infield could look something along the lines of Justin Turner at first base, Max Muncy at second, Lindor manning shortstop, and Seager moving over to third. That's as fearsome of an infield as there could possibly be in baseball.
Pair that up with an outfield that includes perennial MVP candidate Cody Bellinger and a rotation with Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler, and suddenly this trade elevates the Dodgers to World Series favorites once again next season.
For a fanbase that's been yearning for a championship for over three decades now, they might have a lot to look forward to this offseason. Even elite teams need a shakeup every now and then.
