Jon Gruden Speaks to Media for First Time Since Raiders' Offseason Overhaul
By Brady Williams

Despite spending the past two seasons completely reshaping the Raiders roster, head coach Jon Gruden has been uncharacteristically quiet. Well, the one-time Super Bowl winner has finally spoken.
He offered an explanation for why he's been relatively reserved while conducting his business this offseason, and his answer was pretty thoughtful.
Jon Gruden on his mostly silent offseason for #Raiders: `To be honest I've just been low key. I'm not saying much. Football is kind of not as important right now to anybody given the circumstances. So I've just kind of been under the radar trying to get my team ready to go.'

Gruden has prioritized focusing on his job and preparing his new group of players for whenever the season. He seems to want to be mindful of what a difficult time it's been in the COVID-19 pandemic. Some things are bigger than sports, Gruden has made that much clear.
With that said, Raiders fans certainly have plenty of information to chew on even if their coach is staying out of the headlines. Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock came into the organization as a team, and they clearly had a plan that's now coming together. They're focusing heavily on the defense. By signing a number of big names in free agency and drafting three promising rookies, they've given their team a whole new look.

Signed: LB Cory Littleton, LB Nick Kwiatkoski, DE Carl Nassib, DT Maliek Collins, S Damarious Randall, CB Prince Amukamara, S Jeff Heath.
Drafted: CB Damon Arnette, LB Tanner Muse, CB Amik Robertson.
From the man who was the central character in Hard Knocks last year to a silent operator, it seems Gruden knows when it's appropriate to let his actions do the talking.
