Raiders RB Josh Jacobs Revealed He Underwent Surgery on Instagram Late Christmas Night

Raiders rookie RB Josh Jacobs took to Instagram Wednesday night to share the news that he had successfully undergone surgery on his leg on Christmas Day.

While Jacobs' rookie season had been cut short due to a lingering shoulder injury (revealed to be a fracture), the reason for the surgery on his leg is still unclear. While the surgery was a success, the fact that nobody knew about this injury is a bit concerning.

The 21-year-old RB is currently one of the front-runners for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, following a season where he tallied 1,150 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. With Jacobs as the catalyst for the Raiders offense, the team sparked a major turnaround that will see them finish second in the AFC West. It's unclear whether Jacobs will return for Week 17 (or the playoffs, if the Raiders can sneak in), as the timeline for his recovery on this latest injury is still unknown. Somehow, the impression the world is getting is that he'll be available.
