If you've followed the Netflix original show "Last Chance U", you definitley know the name Ronald Ollie. After his time at Nicholls State, Ollie got his first shot in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately, that opportunity was short lived.

The Raiders announced early on Tuesday that they released the defensive tackle along with former-Colts tight end Erik Swoope.

Ollie's release falls in line with an injury he suffered last Saturday during Oakland's first practice. Details of the injury are yet to surface, but it must be somewhat serious if the Raiders were so quick to waive him.

Swoope spent the past four years with the Colts, only earning significant playing time over the past two years. He was waived by Indianapolis last December and was later signed to one-year deal with the Raiders. However, due to the tight end depth the Raiders possess, Swoope's tenure with the team quickly met its end.

Both moves correspond with the Raiders bringing in 28-year-old DT Ethan Westbrooks. He's spent the first five years of his career with the Rams, but has only started in 11 games. The Oakland native is known for his versatility on the interior line, but will still have to earn a spot on the Raiders' roster.

Hopefully, both Ollie and Swoope see another shot with a different team this year. With the injury that Ollie is set to battle, it may be some time until he gets his next chance. Swoope would be a solid addition for any team in search of depth and experience in their tight end core.
