Raiders Rookie RB Josh Jacobs Listed as Doubtful for Sunday's Season Finale
The Oakland Raiders found a gem in first-round pick Josh Jacobs. He is the best rookie running back in the NFL and is one reason why the Raiders remain in playoff contention heading into Week 17, even if the team's chances are slim.
The problem is that the rookie is dealing with a fractured shoulder and to make matters worse, he had a minor surgery this week to deal with a skin infection. Head coach Jon Gruden was hopeful Jacobs would play, but as of Friday the rookie remains doubtful for Sunday's clash with the Broncos.
Gruden refused to rule the 21-year-old out for the came, though it's fair to say his chances of taking the field remain slim.
On the year, Jacobs has 1,150 yards and seven rushing touchdowns despite featuring in just 13 of the Raiders' 15 games.
Also listed as doubtful was offensive lineman Richie Incognito, as the veteran guard is dealing with an ankle ailment.
Jacobs wasn't able to suit up in Week 16, yet the Raiders still managed to best the Chargers in his stead. They'll be hoping to do much of the same against the 6-9 Broncos in Week 17.
