Earlier this morning it was reported that the Oakland Raiders had signed 36-year-old former Pro Bowl offensive lineman Richie Incognito to a one-year deal.

What's the story here? Well, Incognito's career has consisted of scandal after scandal, forcing him to miss the entire 2014 and 2018 seasons.

Incognito joins a long list of NFL players with controversial pasts who have somehow made their way back onto a roster. One player we all know who still hasn't gotten his chance at redemption for something that was nowhere near as controversial as anything Incognito has done is Colin Kaepernick.

Incognito's career has quite frankly been defined by his insanity off the field. Starting with a bullying incident of a Miami Dolphins teammate back in 2014, his behavior progressively got more and more troubling. His 2018 exile stemmed from two incidents -- one at a Florida gym and the other at a funeral home.

At the gym, he threw weights and threatened to harm another fellow member. During his father's funeral, he threatened to go retrieve guns from his car (which the police later found) and shoot all of the employees at the funeral home.

But yeah, that's acceptable behavior compared to kneeling during the National Anthem.

Incognito has enjoyed his fair share of success in the NFL, but you'd think at a certain point the league would stop giving him second chances.

If Incognito, in all his controversial glory, can still manage to earn a roster spot, why not Colin Kaepernick? Their actions don't resemble any similarities whatsoever, as Incognito's have been objectively reprehensible and punishable BY LAW.

Once again, the NFL proves why it's the most incompetent sports league without fail.
