Raiders to Suspend Antonio Brown After Wednesday Fight With Mike Mayock
By Adam Weinrib
And just a few short hours after he signed a lucrative helmet endorsement, too!
Antonio Brown's tenure in Raiders colors has gone almost ludicrously poorly so far; he damaged his feet during cryo treatments, refused to play without his banned equipment and barely appeared during the entirety of "Hard Knocks".
Now, just a day after publicly expressing displeasure with his GM Mike Mayock's decision to fine him for missed time, it seems that conflict spilled over into the afternoon when the two met in person. As of now, Brown is suspended, as the regular season begins.
As expected, this already-boiling situation spiraled almost immediately after Brown went public with his fine letter, a wildly inappropriate move that displayed a remarkable lack of awareness.
In what seems to be the next step of an endless, inescapable quagmire, Brown will forfeit over $860,000 per week missed.
Brown's diva tendencies seemed innocent until he caused a public disturbance by skipping Week 17 last year as the Steelers battled for a playoff berth. Now, it seems, every one of his worst urges has been fueled in Oakland.
The current O/U for "Antonio Brown Raiders Games" is currently set, at least in my mind, at 0.5.
