Weeks after New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton became the first member of the NFL family to come forward with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, we now know the first player to contract the deadly disease.

Los Angeles Rams center Brian Allen told FOX Sports' Jay Glazer that he has coronavirus, although his condition is, for the most part, rapidly improving.

Glazer has been sitting on this news for the past few days, we assume at the request of Allen. It's unknown how this will impact his ability to train for the upcoming NFL season, but he has yet to regain his sense of smell.

Allen started nine games in 2019 at the center position, providing critical support up front for emerging QB Jared Goff.

The 24-year-old received his diagnosis three weeks ago, and is 'on the road to recovery,' per his head coach Sean McVay.

Per McVay, no other Rams players or staff are susceptible to contracting the disease from Allen, and the Rams are proceeding with caution and listening to their medical staff before continuing their offseason activities (virtually of course).

We wish Allen the best in his recovery.
