Rams Dealt Marcus Peters Before They Even Knew They Would Get Jalen Ramsey
By Parker White

The Los Angeles Rams made some shocking news earlier this week when they traded Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens. The news was particularly shocking given the team just lost veteran CB Aqib Talib to the IR.
Before you could even utter the thought of the Rams throwing in the towel on 2019, later that day, they acquired All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That must've been the plan all along. Trade Peters to make room for Ramsey, right? Well, apparently the Rams didn't even know they'd be able to acquiree Ramsey before dealing Peters.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, Rams GM Les Snead called Jacksonville two weeks prior to the trade and the answer on Ramsey was a "no."
But then he went on a run and called Dave Caldwell of the Jaguars when he got back and they were able to work out a deal.
#Rams GM Les Snead called the #Jaguars two weeks ago about Jalen Ramsey and was simply told “no”. So how‘d he finally get the deal (and a couple other trades) done? Here’s what Snead told me. @gmfb @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/cILcL2eIIb

That was certainly a risky move by Snead and the Rams, but they ended up getting their guy so no harm, no foul.
