The Rams Somehow Managed to Screw up the Marcus Peters-Ravens Trade and it Only Took 10 Games

For as talented as Marcus Peters is, he can be a bit difficult to get along with, which prompted Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams to trade him away to the Baltimore Ravens.

Rather than insisting on a fair return given how valuable a player he can be coupled with the fact they acquired him for a second-round pick from the Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams seemed to take the first deal offered, trading Peters to the Ravens for chump change, giving Baltimore an elite secondary.

The Rams acquired a fifth-round pick and linebacker Kenny Young in exchange for Peters. LA later traded away that pick, which eventually ended up in the possession of the Chicago Bears and became wide receiver Darnell Mooney, to the Miami Dolphins in the Aqib Talib salary dump (another fat L!). On top of that, Young only played on special teams with the Rams.

Peters, meanwhile, turned in arguably the best season of his career. In 10 games as a Raven, he intercepted three passes, two of which he returned for touchdowns. At the end of the year, he was a First-Team All-Pro selection after the Ravens went 14-2 in the regular season.

Peters helped take the Ravens defense from good to great last season, and now he's with them for the foreseeable future. Les Snead went from a master dealmaker to a guy who traded an All-Pro for a backup linebacker in a year, which is truly astonishing.
