Rams New Logo Supposedly Leaks and it Looks Much More Like a Chargers Logo
By Scott Rogust
The start of the new year in the NFL is a little over a week away, which means there will be some drastic changes, and we're not just talking about rosters. We're talking about the rebranding of NFL teams.
Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Rams released a video hyping up the upcoming reveal of new uniforms ahead of the 2020 season and the grand opening of the brand new SoFi Stadium. Well, the brand new logo was released on Reddit and then confirmed by Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson on Sunday, and...it looks more fitting for the Los Angeles Chargers.
It's a rather basic logo at first look, but then you notice that the "A" branches off into the shape of a ram horn. The thing is, the color scheme makes the horn look like a signature Chargers lightning bolt. You simply can't unsee it.
So, are the Rams and Chargers sharing team colors considering they're splitting a stadium for the foreseeable future? Is that part of the pact?
Fans were looking forward to new uniforms that would consist of their royal blue and gold retro colors. If we're basing it off this hat, it looks like the Rams will instead opt for navy blue and yellow scheme.
The verdict is out, and the early reviews of the new emblem are unsurprisingly mixed. Maybe the uniforms will be sharp enough to soften the blow for the Rams.
But it...feels like a bad idea to mimic the less popular team you share a stadium with.
