Rams' Taylor Rapp Burned an Inhuman Number of Calories in One Day and Should Be Dead Now

Average humans should usually aim to conduct a couple hours of exercise per week, or 30 minutes per day.

Those expectations change from person to person, especially for professional athletes, but the baseline remains the same.

But, even accounting for as much as athletes train and condition, Rams safety Taylor Rapp's recent accomplishment is absolutely remarkable. Just...take a look at these figures.

As part of the 10K Calorie Challenge, Rapp attempted to burn 10,000 calories in one day. Yes, 10,000. And he succeeded, biking 125 miles while adding in swimming, hiking and running over the course of a 17-hour day for a total of 93,963 steps. For perspective, most people are recommended to get about 10,000 a day.

There are some unknowns in this situation, most notably in Rapp's diet and how he sustained the energy to last throughout the day. It certainly had to be something more than the average gameday prep meal, though.

While this workout may be the highlight of Rapp's NFL career, his accomplishments on the field are nothing to sneeze at. An All-American safety at the University of Washington, Rapp was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft and delivered a highlight during his rookie year, with plenty more to come.

In a time where athletes remain away from the field, there are certainly some who are taking advantage of the freedom more than others. Rapp has done just that with one insane workout. Now let's see who takes on this challenge next.
