VIDEO: Randy Moss' Son Thaddeus Moss Explains History Behind His Dad's Mooning Celebration
By Brady Williams
What was once called a "disgusting act" by Joe Buck was apparently a concerted act of vengeance. When the Minnesota Vikings met the Green Bay Packers in the 2004 NFL playoffs, Randy Moss pretended to pull down his pants and flash a crowd of unsuspecting cheeseheads after a 34-yard TD. Now, his son is reporting that the celebration was very much premeditated, and brought about by Packer Nation's actions.
According to former LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss (the son of the Vikings great), who is at the NFL Combine, but won't participate in any drills, his dad used to get mooned in Green Bay all the time. Therefore, when Moss unleashed his second score of the game on the Wisconsin crowd, he had something special waiting in the wings for them.
While those fans apparently did it for real, Moss' imitation version is the one that sticks. We'll never forget where we were when Joe Buck became aghast on the national stage. If only he knew the context.
You have to wonder: When did Thaddeus get old enough to drop this question on his pops?
