The New York Rangers entered NHL Draft night this past Friday with the easiest decision on earth. This year's class was headlined by American center Jack Hughes and Finnish winger Kaapo Kakko, and with the New Jersey Devils holding the first overall pick, the Rangers just had to take the other guy.

With Hughes going first overall, the Rangers gladly selected Kakko to be their scoring weapon of the future. Rangers fans in New York City were ecstatic about the pick once it was made, and were that high on Sunday when it came time to greet Kakko at the airport once he got off his flight from Vancouver.

Now that is some serious love by the Rangers fan base. If you've ever been subjected to the demoralizing, infuriating place known as the Newark Airport, you understand what kind of commitment this really is.

Kakko has been called the perfect prospect by many analysts, as well as the most pro-ready. The winger showcased his elite scoring ability for Team Finland at the IIHF World Championships, tallying 6 goals, 3 of which coming at the expense of Slovakia.

As with any New York fan base, there are lofty expectations surrounding top draft picks. But this is different for the Rangers; this kid is the highest-drafted player in Rangers franchise history since the dawn of the NHL lottery era, and he is expected to make an immediate impact next season and bring fans to Madison Square Garden in droves.

If Kaapo Kakko didn't feel the love on social media, he definitely felt it in Newark.
