Rangers Reveal New Stadium Features Awesome Hidden Tribute to Team Legends
By Chris Russo
The plans for the Texas Rangers' new home, Globe Life Field, are now public, and they also feature a cool surprise.
Globe Life Field's dimensions will honor some of the team's best all-time players.
The numerical distance of each set point in the outfield is a tribute one or multiple Rangers greats. Not only did the Rangers honor their best players, but they also set them up in perfect positions on the field.
It is only appropriate that Ivan Rodriguez, the only Hall of Fame member to have spent his career primarily with the Rangers, has his No. 7 in the heart of the ballpark in center field.
It's also perfect that the Rangers placed the '74 team out in right-center field considering Jeff Burroughs played 150 of his 152 games in right field during his American League MVP campaign that year.
Lastly, it's so fitting that Adrian Beltre's No. 29 goes down the left field line because it's impossible to think of him without picturing the all-time great trying to pull a home run while going down on one knee.
It should be an even more iconic and memorable spot when he reaches the Hall of Fame.
