Rangers to Reportedly Call Up Former Met Rafael Montero

MLB fans haven't heard this guy's name in a while!
On Monday, the Texas Rangers called up former New York Mets right-handed pitcher Rafael Montero, who has pitched at three different minor league levels this season on his way back to full health.

Montero, a former top pitching prospect for the Mets, missed the entire 2018 season due to a UCL injury that led to Tommy John surgery. He entered free agency back in November and signed with the Rangers in January.

In 11 appearances (five starts) down on the farm this season, Montero owns a 3.44 ERA with 31 strikeouts over 18.1 innings.
He last pitched in the big leagues back in 2017 with the Mets where he posted a 5-11 record with a 5.52 ERA over 34 appearances (18 starts), including 114 strikeouts over 119 innings of work.
Let's see if he can help the Rangers, who are contending for a Wild Card spot.
