The Oakland Athletics (58-46) will look to close the eight-game gap between them and the Astros this weekend. The Texas Rangers (52-51) are in town and stole the first of a four-game series Thursday night with an 11-3 victory. The AL West showdown is pivotal for both clubs as they both look to make up some ground in their division.

How to Live Stream the Game

Game 2 of the series kicks off Friday night, with first pitch set for 10:07 p.m. ET from the Oakland Coliseum. You can watch the game locally on both FOX Sports Southwest and NBC Sports California. The game will also be available on fuboTV and through the MLB Streams subreddit.

Athletics Lineup

Shortstop Marcus Semien leads off for Oakland, followed by the duo of Matt Chapman and Matt Olson, both of whom have shown considerable pop this season, combining for 43 home runs on the season.

After southpaw Brett Anderson got anihilated in 4.2 innings Thursday night, the A's will go with RHP Daniel Mengden Friday night. The 26-year-old and his incredible mustache enter the game with a 5-1 record, despite a 4.65 ERA and just 36 strikeouts through 10 games this season.

Rangers Lineup

Shin-Soo Choo is leading off for the Rangers, followed by Rougned Odor who's been hot of late, launching four home runs in his last four games. Danny Santana will play shortstop and hit third.

Rangers veteran righty Lance Lynn has had a solid 2019 campaign (one which the advanced metrics love) despite losing his last two starts. He's faced off with the A's twice this year, carrying an 0-1 record and a brutal 9.64 ERA against Oakland. He's six wins short of his career high (18), and a win in Friday's tilt with the A's could put him on track to break that personal mark for the first time in over five years.
