Raptors Activate OG Anunoby for 1st Time All Postseason Ahead of Game 2
By Scott Rogust
The Toronto Raptors will have an increase in bench depth on Sunday night, but only if the right scenario presents itself.
Raptors head coach Nick Nurse announced that OG Anunoby will be activated for Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, though he may not hit the floor. Anunoby has been out ever since undergoing an emergency appendectomy on April 11.
After starting 63 games last season, Anunoby started just six in his 67 appearances in his 2018-19 campaign. In that span, Anunoby averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
Aside from his statistics, Anunoby provides strength to Toronto's defense, considering he has a 7-foot-6 wingspan. If Kevin Durant is to make his return later on in the series, expect Anunoby to see significant playing time.
While Anunoby is activated for Game 2, it's hard to envision the Raptors rushing him back, considering he missed significant time. But it's always encouraging to know the young stud is healthy and just about ready to go.
