Game Preview
One of the biggest storylines this Finals has been the absence of Durant. Steve Kerr said the target was for Durant to return in Game 4, as there was belief he'd be ready to scrimmage with the team on Thursday before the game. However, that didn't happen and he remains on the shelf with a calf injury.
However, Thompson will return for this contest after missing Game 3 with a hamstring issue.
Kevin Durant will not play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The Warriors certainly did miss Thompson in Game 3, leaving Steph Curry to shoulder most of the load on offense. Curry performed spectacularly, finishing with 47 points despite the Warriors' loss.
The Raptors have continued to showcase their high level of play and suffocating defense against the Warriors. Even without Durant, the Warriors never really skipped a beat during the Western Conference playoffs, but the Raptors have been the first team to really slow them down.

With Thompson returning, the Warriors will need to even the series and avoid a 3-1 deficit with the series going back to Toronto. With Durant expected to return at some point, they need to make the series manageable on their end.
But if Kawhi Leonard and Co. can continue to take advantage of Durant's absence and give themselves a 3-1 lead, they will be in total control of the series and could be well on their way to the first title in franchise history.
