Ravens and Pro Bowl CB Marcus Peters Agree to Huge 3-Year Extension
By Karl Rasmussen
The Baltimore Ravens made a huge splash ahead of the trade deadline, acquiring Marcus Peters from the Los Angeles Rams. Their marquee acquisition has impressed since joining the secondary, and his production has paid off.
Peters and the Ravens agreed to a big-money three-year extension ahead of the 4:00 p.m. ET extension deadline.
The 26-year-old is now due to make $42 million over the next three seasons, with $32 million of the deal reported to be guaranteed money.
If this deal says anything, it's that the Ravens are extremely confident in Peters' ability to maintain this level of production, or even improve further.
In his fifth year in the league -- and now on his third team -- Peters has hauled in five interceptions, three of which he's taken back for touchdowns. The cornerback has 14 pass breakups and 52 tackles, 38 of which he's recorded in his nine games with the Ravens.
Peters wasn't a great fit for the Chiefs or Rams, but it looks like he's found his new home in Baltimore. He's excelling in the Ravens secondary and the team has no intention of letting him leave this offseason.
