Ravens Get Positive Injury Update On RB Mark Ingram After Calf Scare
By Michael Luciano
The Baltimore Ravens appeared to be on the verge of losing their backfield sledgehammer in Mark Ingram when he exited their win against the Cleveland Browns with a calf injury, but the initial prognosis should be enough to quell any thoughts of a doomsday scenario.
Ravens fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that head coach John Harbaugh doesn't seem too worried about this injury. According to Harbaugh, there are no structural issues with Ingram's injury, and he will be in line for an MRI on Monday.
After signing with Baltimore from the New Orleans Saints, the former Heisman winner has been the perfect complement to the electric Lamar Jackson in the 13-2 Ravens backfield.
Ingram crossed the 1,000 yard barrier in his first season as a Raven, while also tying the team's franchise record for touchdowns in a single season with 15.
Ingram has been so instrumental to the utterly unique style of offense that the Ravens play, and any amount of time the Ravens have to tread water without him could be catastrophic.
Luckily, they've clinched the East's top seed.
