Ravens Sign Undrafted Free Agent Safety With an Incredible Name That Proves He's Ready for Battle
By Sam Dunn

In a year that featured a legitimately loaded and deep draft class, the undrafted free agent bargain bin is really nothing to sneeze at. Look no further than the market for safeties, which caught the eye of the Baltimore Ravens following the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft's final round.
You think the Ravens are happy about the newest addition to their secondary? Of course they are -- they signed a dude named Nigel Warrior out of the University of Tennessee.

This guy is ready to suit up in a Greek hoplite's garb literally right now. Give him one of those gnarly pileated helmets with a spear and a shimmering bronze shield. This man has memorized "The Art of War." He spits Thucydides like Lil Wayne spits bars. He invented the phalanx formation.
In a way, this means the Ravens have already won the 2020 offseason.
In all seriousness, though, it's a legitimate surprise that Warrior went undrafted. He was an All-SEC First Team selection and an honorable mention All-American in 2019, and he comes from quite a family: Dale Carter, a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback with the Chiefs, is his father.
The SEC had a whopping 63 players get drafted, yet a pair of all-conference safeties in 2019 — Nigel Warrior and JR Reed — did not hear their names called.

Speaks to both the depth of the conference and how the NFL is a traits-driven league.
Of course, Carter has nothing on Warrior as far as surnames go.
The Ravens feel incredibly let down after crashing out of the playoffs at the hands of the upwardly mobile Tennessee Titans. Based on recent activity, it's clear that they're itching to get back onto the battlefield.
