The Tampa Bay Rays have been hit with a handful of key injuries recently, with guys like Tyler Glasnow, Yandy Diaz, Blake Snell and Avisail Garcia all spending time on the injured list. The tidal wave of injuries has starter Charlie Morton openly complaining about how unlucky they've been.

"We’ve just had some pretty bad luck with injuries," said Morton, who seems completely oblivious to the fact that his division rivals, the Yankees, have had to deal with a never-ending carousel of injuries all year long.

That sounds just a little tone-deaf in all honesty.

Since Morton seems to be unaware of just how bad the Yankees have had it this year, it seems prudent to remind him that in 2019, Luis Severino and Dellin Betances both haven't pitched, Giancarlo Stanton has logged 38 plate appearances, Miguel Andujar is out for the year, and Aaron Judge and Aaron Hicks have both missed long stretches of time.

And those are just the extremely notable injuries. Countless others have hit the injured list for New York this year. Entering play on August 15th, the Yankees have 16 players on the IL.

They've been hammered by key injuries all season long yet they've still found a way to play to the tune of an 81-41 record, the best in baseball. The Yankees have embraced the "next man up" mentality and it has served them well.

But the moment the Rays lose (their first loss in a week, actually), Morton is out touting how unlucky they've been.

Cry yourself a river, Charlie. The Rays might have it bad, but there not even close to being the unluckiest team in the AL East, let alone baseball.
