Rays Reportedly Looking to Deal Eric Sogard Before Trade Deadline Despite Acquiring Him This Week
By Karl Rasmussen

Eric Sogard swapped uniforms but not divisions when he was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Tampa Bay Rays. But hopefuly he didn't get too comfortable in Florida.
According to recent reports from Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun, the Rays may be looking to move Sogard ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline.
Don't be surprised if Eric Sogard isn't a Tampa Ray for long. Sources suggest the now former #Bluejays infielder could be flipped prior to Wednesday deadline.

The Rays only just brought in Sogard last week, landing him from Toronto despite reported interest from teams such as the Cubs and Giants.
While he could be a solid contributor as a multi-position player who is also enjoying a career year at the plate, perhaps the Rays think they struck a bargain on him and will try to flip him for a larger haul.
Infielder Eric Sogard has been traded to the Tampa Bay Rays, league sources tell ESPN. Multiple teams were on him but Toronto ultimately settled on a deal with Tampa Bay.

The 33-year-old is slashing .300/.363/.477 with a career-high 10 home runs and 30 RBI, while also stealing 6 bases. It's been a breakout year for the journeyman, and he's proven to carry some value on the open market.
With Brandon Lowe on the mend after suffering a shin injury, it'd be smart if the Rays use Sogard up until the deadline and then swing a deal to improve other areas of their roster. Will the Cubs and Giants express interest once again?
