Rays Shock the World and Actually Put More ALDS Tickets up for Sale
By Parker White

Postseason games are suppose to sell out, but that hasn't always been the case for the Tampa Bay Rays when they play at home at Tropicana Field.
However, for Games 3 and 4 against the Houston Astros in the ALDS, they've already sold out and will increase the capacity to 35,000.
#Rays have put a "couple thousand" more tickets on sale for Games 3 and 4 vs. #Astros due to strong sales, and will have a capacity of about 35,000 by rolling up some of the tarps in upper deck. No further sales planned for this round.

The Rays already re-opened the upper deck for the postseason to increase the capacity from just over 25,000 seats to 33,000. But hey, when the people want to buy tickets and come to your park, you'll do whatever it takes to make it happen, including rolling up some of the tarp in the upper portion of the upper deck.
THRILLED to see this interest !LOOK insiders tell me @RaysBaseball execs want to stay in area but let’s face it can u blame them for exploring other possibilities. The support has been pathetic.Yes NEW stadium needed!

Houston coming to town certainly helps this influx of ticket sales, but the Rays are confident that their fans are going to pack the stadium. So much so that if they advance to the ALCS, the plan is to remove all of the tarps which would increase the capacity to 40,000.
