The Boston Red Sox will open up their weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday at Fenway Park, looking to take the first game of the pivotal four-game series ahead of Saturday's doubleheader. A sweep by Boston could quickly put them within striking distance of the Rays in the AL East.
How to Live Stream the Game
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m. ET and will be aired on NESN and Fox Sports Sun. You can also stream the game using the MLB streams subreddit.
Red Sox Lineup
The Red Sox will continue trudging on with Mookie Betts hitting out of the leadoff spot. Andrew Benintendi follows behind him, as do Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts. J.D. Martinez, who left Thursday's game with back tightness, is not in the lineup, as Eduardo Nuñez takes over DH duties.
Rick Porcello will be on the hill for the Red Sox on Friday. The former Cy Young winner has been far from spectacular this year, sporting a 4-5 record and 4.76 ERA. He'll look to turn things around against the Rays.
Rays Lineup
The surprisingly scalding hot Rays continue to take the league by storm, largely due to one particular bat in the order. Austin Meadows has been a star this year, providing a league-high .349 batting average to go with 12 homers and 38 RBI. He's leading off for Tampa, with Tommy Pham in the DH slot batting second. Rookie phenom Brandon Lowe is at second base and batting third, ahead of red-hot Avisaíl García.
The Rays will go with Yonny Chirinos to start the game. Chirinos has been excellent thus far in his second MLB season, holding a 6-2 record with a 3.25 ERA, 49 strikeouts and a 0.95 WHIP.
