3 Reasons Experts Will Regret Underestimating the Packers

The Green Bay Packers are mortal, just like every NFC contender. They have flaws. However, the fact this team is being passed over in the Super Bowl conversation is an insult to the squad Brian Gutekunst, Matt LaFleur and Co. have put together.

3. Bend But Don't Break Defense

The Packers defensive ranks have some fans scratching their heads, but Green Bay is still ninth in the NFL in points allowed at 20.2. While that's by no means a shutdown unit, it does prove that the Packers defense will always keep Aaron Rodgers and Co. in games. Kenny Clark's late-season push, combined with the always-dangerous Za'Darius Smith give Green Bay a formidable d-line that can change the game on a dime.

2. Stable Run Game

While fans often complain that LaFleur goes away from the run game far too quickly, Aaron Jones remains one of the best weapons in the NFC North. Jones averages 4.4 yards-per-carry for 830 yards, making him one of the more stable backs in football. Come playoff time, the Packers won't have to rely on Rodgers too much.

1. Aaron Rodgers, Period

Sure, it's a cop-out, but Rodgers stability and playoff experience make him the most dangerous QB in the NFC. Green Bay is always gearing up to make a run, and his 24;2 touchdown-to-interception ratio proves he's not as susceptible to the turnover as in years past. This could be another special season for Rodgers in Green Bay.
