Red Sox Brass Refused to Answer Any Questions About Team's Behavior at Alex Cora Press Conference
The Boston Red Sox held a press conference on Wednesday, and for fans hoping the front office would step up and answer the necessary questions being sent their way regarding the impending sign-stealing investigation, that wasn't the case.
Matter of fact, the opposite was true. At the presser, the execs refused to comment on anything regarding the sign-stealing scandal. Seriously, fellas?
Obviously, a presser was needed after it was announced the Red Sox and Alex Cora had agreed to part ways. Less than two years ago, Cora was a king in the Northeast after helping the team win the World Series. On Tuesday, he was gone.
The allegations made against Cora and the Red Sox are undoubtedly serious. He was also the bench coach for the Astros in 2017, and Houston was just crushed by the MLB after being fined $5 million and seeing both GM Jeff Luhnow and A.J. Hinch suspended for a year. Both have since been fired by owner Jim Crane.
Shortly after, Cora was out in Boston. The team's reasoning for such a quick decision to be made by both sides? Well, we're still waiting for that answer.
Boston chairman Tom Werner wants fans to be patient? Please. The more time Boston wastes by continuing this dance, the worse it makes the organization look. It's beginning to look beyond embarrassing.
