Scott Boras Blasts Red Sox Over Brusdar Graterol Injury Controversy
The Boston Red Sox are delaying the completion of the Mookie Betts trade because of questions regarding the health of Brusdar Graterol, who was to be dealt to Boston as part of the three-team deal.
Graterol is a flamethrowing Minnesota Twins prospect who made his big-league debut at the end of the 2019 campaign. Now the Red Sox, after the deal was agreed upon, claim that there are concerns over his health due to a past Tommy John surgery and are seeking another prospect in return.
Agent Scott Boras, who represents the highly-rated Graterol, called the Red Sox out Friday for the delay.
Boras claims the Red Sox want to back out due to a "cursory medical record" though the agent insisted that his client had been examined by other doctors who "say there's no issue going forward."
This situation affects the Red Sox, Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Angels. Players don't know where they will be playing this season all because of one prospect's medical history that seemingly shouldn't be in question to begin with.
Boras is just like the rest of us in that he's frustrated and fed up with the fact that the Red Sox are seemingly snaking out of the deal.
