Red Sox Change Rotation to Give David Price Start on Sunday Night Baseball
By Parker White
I'm sure ESPN is thrilled to have David Price pitch on Sunday Night Baseball instead of Eduardo Rodriguez. Following a Thursday rainout, Boston has decided to change up their rotation and have Rick Porcello appear on Saturday, sending Price to the mound in his house of horrors at Yankee Stadium.
Best to get him over the hump in early June, huh?
Price pitched better in the postseason last year, but does that mean his woes against the Yankees are gone and not a problem? In 42 career appearances (41 starts) against New York, Price is 15-14 with a 4.90 ERA, including 21 starts at Yankee Stadium, where he's 8-8 with a 4.83 ERA.
To be fair to Price, he's been incredible this year, posting a 2.83 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 47.2 innings over nine starts.
The Red Sox are in a position where they need to win at least two out of three to stay in the division mix, so it's all hands on deck, and they are running out their three best starters this weekend, no matter the history.
