Red Sox Legend Kevin Youkilis Offers to Help Bruins' Torey Krug With Sad Playoff Beard

The Boston Bruins have been through two grueling series in the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals, with their first round matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs going to Game 7, and their second round matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets finishing in six.

Defenseman Torey Krug has taken quite the beating himself, usually being matched up against the opposing team's top lines, which he talked about in a recent interview.

But one Boston star took a different insight from that interview: for someone who's played so deep into this postseason, Krug really doesn't have the right face on yet.

As a result of that interview following Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes, Red Sox legend Kevin Youkilis took to Twitter to offer some help to the Bruins defenseman, in order to Boston-ize him a little bit.

Youkilis asked Twitter for someone to make a small donation to Krug, being that his playoff beard is, well, below average to say the least. Youk had a variety of different facial hair styles throughout his playing days, but it seems like this is one look he doesn't support.

Needless to say, there are far better beards that have been featured in the Stanley Cup Playoffs so far, and Youkilis just wants to support his Bruins and ensure that there are no sorry playoff beards in the city of Boston.

Krug has been the subject of a lot of beating throughout 16 games in this postseason. To make it even worse, he hasn't been getting the calls to go his way either. That hasn't stopped him from keeping the puck out of his own net.

Krug has played exceptionally well in the playoffs, and has been one of the top defenseman in the Bruins' zone, limiting the quality chances against his goalie, and arguably the best player in the playoffs so far, Tuukka Rask.

If Krug and the Bruins keep up their great play in their own zone, we may be seeing the B's lift their seventh Stanley Cup in June. Let's get a little facial hair boost in the process too, though.
