The Red Sox Are Clowns for Making a Terrible Trade and Then Trying to Renegotiate it

The Boston Red Sox fan base is still reeling from the fact Mookie Betts and David Price were traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Add the fact that the Red Sox netted only Alex Verdugo and Brusdar Graterol in return from the Dodgers and Minnesota Twins, respectively, and it made things worse.

The trade has not yet been finalized, however, as the Red Sox were "spooked" by the medical reports on Graterol, which leaves a remote chance that the deal could be cancelled.

Don't act like we can't see what you're doing, Chaim Bloom. You thought you had a pretty good haul for Betts, you were subjected to an avalanche of criticism over your return, and now you're looking for any possible way to get yourself out of this deal and try again.

While the medicals on Graterol could undo this whole deal, the most likely scenario is that Boston will ask for an extra prospect or two from either Minnesota or Los Angeles to finalize the deal.

It goes without saying that Verdugo and Graterol by themselves are not an adequate return for Betts and Price, so it makes sense as to why the Red Sox could try to get a do-over. Having said that, should Graterol's medicals be enough to nullify this trade and give the Red Sox a chance to get a more adequate return? By itself, probably not.
