Red Sox Officially Hire Dave Bush as Their New Pitching Coach
The Boston Red Sox have some major questions heading into next season. For one, it's still very unclear exactly what they're planning to do about Mookie Betts' and J.D. Martinez's contract situations. But they also have some coaching questions that still need to be answered.
Thankfully, it looks like one of these issues is resolved, as they've officially hired Dave Bush to be their pitching coach.
Bush was a former pitcher himself, and had solid seasons with mostly the Brewers and Blue Jays. He's been in the Red Sox organization for a few years now, most recently serving as one of their coordinators in the minor league system.
Pitching was one of the main reasons Boston failed to make the postseason in 2019, with the starting rotation taking a major step back while the bullpen remained faulty.
Bush hasn't had any coaching experience at the Major League level, so Sox fans are hoping his first cup of coffee will result in success for the pitching staff.
