Red Sox Provide Update on Dustin Pedroia
By Sean Facey

Dustin Pedroia's injury status is up in the air yet again.
Pedroia underwent tests on his ailing knee after he was scratched from his first rehab game in Double-A on Saturday. He came into the season hoping for a fresh start, but lingering injuries continue to nag at him and force him to the shelf.
Well, in the latest update surrounding the veteran second baseman, Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that the 35-year-old's knee soreness is "nothing major."

Regardless of the severity of injury, it seems that every time the team provides some sort of update, it involves Pedroia experiencing a setback.
The gritty second baseman has appeared in just six games for the Red Sox this year, batting a paltry .100 in 20 at-bats. His frequent setbacks during rehab stints have prompted many fans to question whether or not he should continue to attempt a comeback.
Piggybacking off of @ChrisCotillo's tweet, it's disheartening to see fans who are willing to throw Dustin Pedroia in the trash because of his injuries when the only reason he's dealing with said injuries is because he played his ass off every day for over a decade. For you.

The former AL MVP seemed like he was on the verge of a healthy season in 2019 after a quiet and productive offseason. It's disheartening to see a stalwart of the game struggle with injuries for such a long period of time.
