Red Sox Reportedly Planning to Offer Rafael Devers a Contract Extension in Offseason

The Boston Red Sox are seemingly making a common sense move to help their future.
Third baseman and potential American League MVP candidate Rafael Devers will reportedly receive a contract offer from his club at season's end.

Devers has absolutely tore it up for Boston in 2019. Entering tomorrow's season finale, he's played 154 of their 161 games and hit .308 with 32 home runs and 115 RBI. He also leads the AL in doubles and the MLB in total bases.
Now is this perfect time for Boston to sign Devers for the long haul. The Red Sox will be going through a partial rebuild next year, and the 22 year-old's value will skyrocket if they decide not to ink him as soon as possible. Devers is making under $700,000 this year, so if the Red Sox show the right gesture and offer to give him a gigantic raise, he might be more inclined to stay and sign the deal.
Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers are only the second SS/3B combo ever to record 30+ HR and 110+ RBI each in a season.

2019 Red Sox:
SS Xander Bogaerts (32 HR, 110 RBI)
3B Rafael Devers (30 HR, 110 RBI)
2001 A’s:
SS Miguel Tejada (31 HR, 113 RBI)
3B Eric Chavez (32 HR, 114 RBI)
The Red Sox should be able to shell out some cash if they really are going to let go of some of their top players, and Devers has probably been their best this year.
