Red Sox to Make Major Schedule Change if Bruins Play Game 7 on Wednesday
By Michael Luciano
If the Boston Bruins can claw their way back into their Stanley Cup Finals matchup against the St. Louis Blues, then they aren't going to let a pesky Red Sox regular season game stand in the way of selling out the TD Garden.
If the Bruins can upset the Blues in St. Louis, the start time for the Red Sox matchup against the Texas Rangers will be pushed back to a 4:05 start, a three-hour difference over what was planned.
With the way this series has been going, however, that's becoming an even bigger "if" by the minute.
Jordan Binnington and the Blues have taken the Bruins' initial punch in the mouth and responded well, taking a 3-2 lead. Yes, the officiating hasn't been perfect, but this St. Louis team is playing up to their talent on paper for the first time in what seems like forever.
While this might just be a pre-emptive move to avoid nightmare traffic in Boston, it could give fans a chance to see Mookie Betts and the Red Sox beat up on the Rangers before witnessing history in a Stanley Cup Game 7. What's a better Boston day than that?
