First pitch is scheduled for 8:15 PM ET from Kauffman Stadium and will be televised on FSKC and NESN. The game can also be viewed on the MLB Streams subreddit.

Red Sox Lineup

Boston's potent offense has been powered in large part by J.D. Martinez, who is batting an impressive .301 with 12 home runs and 33 RBI on the season. He'll hit third, behind Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi. Rafael Devers bats in the cleanup spot, ahead of Xander Bogaerts and Brock Holt. Michael Chavis, Jackie Bradley Jr., and Sandy León round up the order.

Sox ace Chris Sale (1-7, 4.35 ERA) will be on the mound Wednesday, hoping to turn things around after an uncharacteristically poor first two months of the season. The left-hander's 7 losses in his first 12 starts far surpass the 4 losses he compiled all of last season.

Royals Lineup

The power-hitting Jorge Soler has been heating up of late, notching 5 home runs in his last 15 games, though that only partially helps mitigate his .193 average during that span. He's in the cleanup spot, batting behind the trio of Whit Merrifield, Adalberto Mondesi and Alex Gordon.

Righty Jakob Junis (4-5, 5.35 ERA) will take the bump for the Royals, and he'll attempt to build on a quality start in his last appearance against the Rangers. In that game, he pitched 6 strong innings, allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits and adding 7 strikeouts.

The Red Sox need to finish strong on this road trip before returning to Fenway to face the division-rival Rays on Friday. The favorable pitching matchup in Wednesday's game offers them a great opportunity to do so.
