Reds Staffers Quarantined After Arizona-Based Team Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
By Michael Luciano
The coronavirus that is currently ravaging the sporting world hasn't spared players or staff connected to MLB teams from infection, and the Cincinnati Reds announced that the virus has unfortunately made it's way into their Arizona facility.
A Reds employee at that site has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, making this only the 29th positive case in the entire state.
The United States recently passed 8,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, and several of them have been within the sporting world.
While NBA stars like Kevin Durant, Donovan Mitchell, and Rudy Gobert have contracted the disease, several Yankees minor leagues have come down with an infection caused by this novel virus. To give the Reds credit, they confirmed that the individual is currently quarantined and all staff that were recently in close contact with the individual are undergoing testing.
This employee likely will not be the last person connected to an MLB team in some capacity that contracts this disease. Hopefully the number of infected among the baseball community remains few and far between as the country tries their best to combat this virus.
