First pitch is scheduled for 8:15 PM ET from Busch Stadium and will be televised on FSMW and FSO. The game can also be viewed on the MLB streams subreddit.
Reds Lineup
Cincinnati's offense has struggled mightily so far this season, as they're 11th in the NL in runs scored. Some of that can be attributed to the struggles of perennial all-star Joey Votto, who is in the midst of the worst start to a season of his career. He's batting just .247 with 4 home runs, but maintains his place in the second spot in the order.
Nick Senzel leads off and plays center field, while Eugenio Suarez is in the hot corner and batting third. Yasiel Puig hits cleanup with José Iglesias in the five-hole.
Reds ace Luis Castillo (5-1, 2.45 ERA) will be on the mound Tuesday, and he will look to rebound from a couple rough starts of late. In his last two starts, he has given up 6 earned runs in just 8 innings of work. The Reds will hope Castillo can return to the form of his first 10 starts, during which he logged a 1.90 ERA.
Cardinals Lineup
Leadoff hitter Matt Carpenter struggled mightily to begin the season, but he may have turned a corner, as he's batting .300 in his last 15 games. Cleanup hitter Marcell Ozuna has been a solid power threat in his second season as a Cardinal, as he's hit 16 home runs through 58 games.
Left-hander Genesis Cabrera (0-1, 7.36 ERA) gets the nod for the Cardinals, making his second major league start. The Cardinals' 14th-ranked prospect struggled in his debut, giving up 5 runs (3 earned) in just 3.2 innings in a loss against the Phillies.
This game features an interesting matchup between two young pitchers, with the Reds holding a distinct advantage in that department. However, Cincinnati's lackluster offense, while a home run threat, could make for an encouraging performance from the Cardinals' rookie pitcher.
